Yousra Elhassan Badi - Managing Partner

Yousra Elhassan Badi is a Legal Counsel licensed by Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone, UAE; an advocate registered at the Sudanese Bar Association and an IP lawyer listed in the Sudanese Trademark Agents Registry. She is the Managing Partner and founder of the Company. Having worked for many years at law firms as well as an in-house counsel, Yousra is well-versed with the requirements of both sides of the legal practice.
Yousra has substantial experience in Intellectual Property rights protection with special focus on trademark prosecution and litigation, as well as copyrights, trade secrets, IP licensing and unfair competition issues.
In addition, Yousra has considerable experience in business laws advising clients on appropriate company structure and setting up of companies, corporate governance and board secretarial issues; drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts.
Prior to starting the Company, Yousra worked in Dubai, UAE, in the regional offices of JCDecaux Middle East FZ-L.L.C, Rouse & Co International Limited (Dubai Branch) and United Trade Marks and Patent Services.
Yousra is a holder of a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Sharjah, UAE and was one of two honors graduates in her batch. She is fluent in Arabic and English and holds a qualification in translation from David Game College London. She studied both the Sudanese and UAE laws and has a remarkable academic achievements in both. Her training and experience working for international companies with a focus on the MENA region enable her to provide a high standard of advice and legal expertise in each case..
Yousra is also a member in the International Bar Association (IBA) and a Top Emerging IP Player Award winner at the IPR Gorilla-Virtual IP Conference, 20th Edition.
Dr. Abdalla Idris - Senior Partner

Dr. Abdalla Idris is a Senior Partner at Y. Badi & Partners Legal Consultancy and a senior lawyer with longstanding experience in international arbitration and cross-border corporate and commercial matters, advising on complex transactions and projects involving multiple jurisdictions.
Over the course of his career, he has advised corporates and institutions on complex transactions and disputes involving parties and projects across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa, and has acted as counsel and advisor before national, regional and international agencies.
Dr. Idris appeared twice before the London court of International Arbitration (LCIA) and has served as a member of arbitral tribunals in proceedings conducted under the rules of the ICC and CRCICA.
In addition to his private practice, arbitration and advisory work, he has held several senior public positions, including serving as Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Sudan, and also served as Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Khartoum - Sudan.
Alongside these roles, Dr. Abdalla was actively involved in legislative drafting and law reform, chairing a number of national law drafting committees, including the National Constitutional Review (2005–2011), the committee that prepared the draft of the 2015 Companies Act, and the committee that prepared the first draft of the 2016 Khartoum Financial Market Act.

Earlier in his career, he was admitted as a lawyer and Commissioner for Oaths in Sudan, a position he has held since 1974. He holds a Doctor of Juridical Science (JSD) from Yale Law School, U.S.A., United States. He is fluent in Arabic and English.
Mr. Yousif Badi - Senior Partner

Mr. Yousif Badi is a Senior Partner at Y. Badi & Partners Legal Consultancy bringing decades of judicial and advisory experience to the Company.
Mr. Yousif began his legal career in the judiciary, serving on the bench for over two decades across several courts in Sudan and the UAE, including the Supreme Court of Sudan and the Civil Federal Court in Abu Dhabi – UAE; where he presided over a wide range of civil and commercial matters.
After many years on the bench, he transitioned to an advisory role, serving as Chief Legal Advisor at Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), where he established the Legal Affairs Department in 1994 and led it until his retirement in 2025. In that role, he supervised the legal affairs of DEWA, its subsidiary companies as well as the Dubai Supreme Counsel of Energy. In addition, he was a member of the DEWA Top Management Team as well as board member in DEWA's major subsidiary companies. Earlier in his career, he has occupied a number of other legal occupations including lecturer at Faculty of Law, University of Khartoum – Sudan.
Mr. Yousif is also an arbitrator registered in the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) and GCC Arbitration Centre in Bahrain.
Through his long career, he has attained rich experience in the different fields of law including commercial and contractual law, business law with a focus on IPP renewable energy transactions, corporate formation and transactions, corporate governance, HR and employment. He has a track record in settling business disputes whether in amicable settlements or in arbitral proceedings.
Further, Mr. Yousif had been nominated for Dubai Government Excellence Awards in 2006. He holds a Bachelor in Law from University of Khartoum, Sudan and L.L.M from University of Birmingham, UK. He is fluent in Arabic and English.
